Manga Quest: Kitchen Princess

20130825-190320.jpg

It's no secret that I like cute things. Add in baking + romance and you get Kitchen Princess. Kitchen Princess is a shoujo manga written by Miyuki Kobayashi and drawn by Natsumi Ando. This manga started my obsession with wanting to eat flan, and made creme brûlée take a back seat.

Sadly I am missing a few volumes from my collection: 2, 3, and 6. My manga quest is to buy these volumes and re-read this adorable, feel-good manga.

Kitchen Princess is about an aspiring young chef with a flawless since of taste and a heart of gold searching for her "Flan Prince". This mission takes her to the prestigious Seika Academy, where she faces many challenges and love interests.

If that doesn't have you sold, there are super cute recipes at the end of each volume.

Do you have any manga to recommend for my next Manga Quest?

  1. The only manga I've ever read is Sailor Moon, and I've always wanted more to get into. This is one I'll be googling quite a bit pretty soon, I think.

  2. SO CUTE!!! I am sure you've read most of these, but:

    • Death Note (for most people, this probably wouldn't be considered feel good or even happy but I LOVE IT so much!!! It's warm and fuzzy for me. I am weird. ^_^)
    • Chibi Vampire (not exactly horror, but a little bit scary I suppose. Mostly cutesy!)
    • Oh My Goddess! (one of the most popular, I think, and so lighthearted and cute.)
    • Tokyo Mew Mew (same!)
    • Bleach (can be a little horror-y/depressing, but has cute comedy and amazing characters and an amazing storyline.)

  3. I haven't finished Bleach or Tokyo MewMew. Deathnote is one I haven't got into because I thought it was scary lol but maybe someday I will give it another try. :)
