I spent the last week in San Angelo visiting my family. One of the things I love to do is go antiquing downtown. My mom and I happened upon a cute retro coffee shop. Stangos had all sorts of cool vintage pinball games and decor. There was also a Zoltar fortune teller, which I thought was the coolest thing ever! And don't forget some awesome coffee! I can't wait to go back and bring my husband.

My Mom Life: Getting Dressed
Before heading to my moms house for the week I had the daunting task of packing. I'm the worst at packing and always bring too much, so I hit up Pinterest for some help. I ended up trying to pack things I could mix and match and were baby toting friendly.
Packing got me thinking about getting dressed daily, and how accomplished I feel as a new mom to put something on other than yoga pants.
Getting into a routine of getting dressed may one day lead to putting on make up and doing my hair. ;)
Sadly I did pack a lot of things I didn't wear, and I only bought the above sweater (which I wore pretty much all week) but I figure you have to start somewhere.
Here's to more yoga pant free days! Enjoy a couple of terrible iPhone pics of some outfits worn while I was in San Angelo

Coffee Date
Something inspiring: My daughter Amelia. She grows so much right before my eyes everyday, and it's amazing. You can see her little personality shining out her big eyes.
Something new: My sister took me out for a much needed pedicure. We met up with our cousin Candice and left all the kids at home. I am now obsessed with buying the color of polish on my tootsies.
Something disgusting: Baby poop. This week Amelia had some crazy poo and ruined a pair of cute pants. My husband is lucky he missed out on that personal disaster.
Something I'm listening to: The Amelie soundtrack. Amelia's projector that plays the ocean quit working, but she loves sleeping to Yann Yiersen.
This post is inspired by Treasures and Travels, check out their cute blog!

Happy Vinyl Day
Happy Valentines Day!
Right now my husband is playing a show in town with Lucero. So I am making chocolate mustaches and hearts, listening to vinyl, and dyeing my hair. Amelia is sleeping in her swing like a little angel.
My husband and I have a Valentines Day tradition where we buy each other vinyl and usually eat Asian food. So it's been a great day!
I've also been hard at work on my dolls and a cute (and quick) business card idea. Here's a sneak peek at some unfinished dolls.
I hope everyone had a wonderful day and stay tuned for the official opening of my shop soon!

Be Present
Recently I was in the waiting room at the doctor's office and I noticed that everyone (and I mean everyone) was completely absorbed in their phones. I was the only odd ball reading a real book. Since that day I notice it everywhere I go, even at home. I'm not gonna lie and say I'm never on my phone because that would be a lie, I am addicted to Instagram, Twitter, and now Vine.
This observation has got me thinking about how things used to be before we all had iPhones as an extension of ourselves. What are we missing out on as our heads are down, eyes locked onto the tiny screen?
So this is my reminder to you, to put your phone down sometimes and just relish in the moment now. You may be missing out on something precious while you're trying to document and share it with the world. Just enjoy, and be present. I know I am...
