52/52 Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas!

I actually finished a photography challenge! Although it wasn't hard because I am constantly taking pictures of Amelia. My mom actually took this picture of us before Clint and I went to his work Christmas party. I hope you and yours are having a wonderful holiday!

We are at the ranch enjoying Christmas with Clint's family. We did Christmas with my family last week when they were all here visiting for Amelia's birthday.

I am trying to decide on my next photography goal. I have been trying to participate in the #fmsphotoaday challenge on Instagram, but I am awful with keeping up. Although, I found if I write what each day is in my day planner, I am more likely to remember. Are you participating? It's super fun and random, I love seeing what everyone comes up with for the same photo prompt and how different everyone's photos are.

I was thinking about doing another 52 weeks project, but I am not sure on my subject matter yet. I was thinking perhaps more arty? I was also thinking I should get better at using my camera instead of my phone. That is how I started this last challenge, and then I got lazy and started using my phone again. My goal is to get better at using an actual camera.

I know some people like to do the 365 project, which is one heck of a challenge. Are you into photography challenges? Which ones have you participated in? Completed? Any subject matter you would like to see lots of pictures of on Scrawny Girl in 2014? Let me know in the comments!

HAPPY CHRISTMAS!

50/52

Santa's little helper destroyed our big Christmas tree, granted it was kinda on its last legs anyway. She is obsessed with Christmas lights and Christmas carols, it's cute! Now we have Christmas tree 2.0 up, which is my old tiny silver tree from my first apartment. It is very cute, and harder to destroy.

Amelia's top teeth finally came in this weekend, which made for a cranky pony princess. Speaking of ponies....Amelia's birthday party is this weekend, so we have been attempting to clean our house for guests this week!

Do you have your house decorated yet? We've been slowly working on ours.

Amelia had a fun time at LaLa's house this past week. Her favorite thing was the refrigerator. If anyone opened the fridge she was there to help and keep it open to pull everything in reach out. She enjoyed trying lots of new foods, feeding ducks and chickens, getting puppy kisses, and riding the little bouncy/rocking horse. We helped LaLa decorate a bit for Christmas, and went to Gail to see Santa. Amelia didn't cry, but I don't think she knew what was going on. Only a couple more weeks until her birthday party!

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

This is best picture I got of Amelia in a birthday hat at her cousins birthday lunch this weekend. She wore it for the majority of the time, tried birthday cake, and played games with her dad. Pretty soon it will be time for her own birthday party!

She's walking like a pro, but refuses to wear shoes and is sleeping in her crib. She is also starting to say words like 'thank you' and 'ok'. She cracks me up with all her funny faces.

What theme was your first birthday party? The first one I remember was Strawberry Shortcake. We plan on doing a My Little Pony Friendship is Magic theme for Amelia's.

We went to the corn maze this weekend. Amelia was excited about ponies and chickens, and less excited about pumpkins. I rode a cow train with her, which was basically barrels pulled by a tractor (there’s a video on Instagram). Sadly they were out of corn, which was weird. What did you do this weekend?

Her hair is getting long, so I've been looking for some cute headbands to keep it out of her face. I found a tutorial to make the ones you knot, but I think I'll end up ordering some off Etsy. Let me know of any cute headband shops.

This past week was filled with a visit from MeMe, climbing on the couch, learning to feed herself from the squeeze pouches, and finding out some snacks aren't too bad. This lady is on the move, and will probably be walking in no time!

DSCN1215This past week Amelia attended her very first concert. My husband plays in the band Thrift Store Cowboys, and they were having a free outdoor show at the Buddy Holly Center here in town. Amelia didn't really know what to think of all the people and the loud music, but she had fun and got to see her friend Lucille.

DSCN1219My husband is the bass player in the bright yellow t-shirt.

It was nice to get out of the house, see friends, have a beer, and watch my husband's band. I hadn't seen them in about a year, since they played the Buddy Holly Summer Showcase the year before.

Have you seen any shows this summer?

I know this isn't this best picture, hello blurry, but I've been trying to capture this crazy face Amelia makes. She makes this face when she's super excited about something. Usually her arms are straight out with her little fists clenched like she's Hulking out. Sometimes she is Hulking out, especially if you try and take away her spoon.

Lately, I've been looking on Pinterest for Halloween costume ideas for Amelia. There are so many cute ideas that I'm going to have a hard time narrowing it down.

I don't remember what my first costume was, I'll have to see if my mom remembers.
What was your first Halloween costume? What are you going to dress up as this year (if you dress up)?

PS Some of you may be thinking it's too early to be thinking about Halloween costumes, but I'm already getting into full fall mode. I'm already wishing for pumpkin spice lattes and cardigan weather. It's my favorite time of the year, so excuse my crazy ;)

DSCN1123My friend T took this photo of us at the farmer's market last weekend. Amelia slept through most of it, and then woke up all sassy right before we left. Can you believe she will be 8 months old on Sunday? Pretty soon I will be planning her 1st birthday party!

She is super curious and standing up by herself for over a minute. I'm teaching her patty cakes, and trying to get her to say DaDa. Sometimes she will rawr at me like a baby dinosaur. She learned that from watching Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood, which is a PBS cartoon based on Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. She's the funniest baby, and has the cutest giggle.

What were your favorite tv shows growing up?

Amelia mostly watches My Little Pony Friendship is magic. I'm pretty sure she will be the friendliest kid around, that will be able to dance you into the ground (she gets that from her dad).

I enjoyed watching Sailor Moon, Jem and the Holograms, and Kids Incorporated when I was a kiddo.

DSCN1149This weekend was fun filled!

On Saturday, we had a girls day and went to the local farmers market. Clint met us for lunch and coffee at one of my favorite places Gatsby's.

LaLa and PaPa came by on Sunday and took us out for lunch to celebrate Clint's new job.

Amelia has 2 teeth coming in, and is making lots of funny sounds. We watch My Little Pony (FIM) Equestria Girls all day! She requests dancing to all the songs, its pretty cute.

Which MLP are you? I'm Pinkie Pie.

DSCN1062I always said I would never post a picture of my kid in the bath on the internet, and here I am....But her face is too funny. My mom got her these little animal bath toys that shoot water at you. She had the funniest reaction to the water hitting her, mostly this face and a look of disbelief.

Here she is eating an alligator. Her first tooth is starting to come in and she has to constantly chew on something. Teething is the worst, and I feel so bad for her.

Do you have any tips to help a teething baby? I'm all ears!

DSCN1043Amelia and I are hanging out at our local Starbucks, drinking coffee and using their wifi. I'm hoping ours will be working again by this weekend because I have a shop update planned for Saturday.

Amelia's cousins bought her this cute tutu (which you can barely see). She had a fun time crawling around in it and mostly trying to get it in her mouth. She has been teething and throwing off her sleep schedule (and mom's), but I bet we see some little teeth soon.

Can you believe it's already August?! What plans do you have for the rest of your summer? We have plans to visit the ranch, and get a visit from MeMe at the end of August.

DSCN0889 DSCN0888My friend Teresa took these when we had a girls day out for coffee a few weeks ago. I'm always the one taking the pictures, so it was nice to be in a few with her for once. Amelia's nose is red from allergies :( poor girl.

We've been trying new foods with Amelia. She absolutely hated peas! Not too sure on bananas, but she kept eating them and making this face. Too cute!

DSCN0745I had a hard time picking a picture this week because there were so many cute ones! This is Amelia discovering bubbles for the first time at the birthday BBQ we were at this weekend.
